The recently opened Tokyo Game Show has been wowing crowds with its displays of some of the latest games , previews of upcoming games as well as early looks at both the Wii and PlayStation 3. But even though Sony is getting a lot of attention in the convention for its next gen console it also took the opportunity to give a much deserved focus on the PlayStation Portable. Aside from showing the latest games for the handheld as well as giving visitors a demo download area, Sony also unveiled in glassed in showcases a new lineup of PSPs that are available in new color variations.Early this year, Sony Europe announced that it was going to release a pink PSP exclusive to the region this October. It is now quite possible that Sony Japan will also be following this tactic what with it also showing a pink version of the PSP on display. Both a silver version and the pink version are confirmed to be available in the Japanese market very soon. Another pink version that may also be made available is the slimline PlayStation 2 which was also previously announced for Europe. But up to now Sony Japan still has not confirmed if indeed it will be made available in Japan.
Sony also showed other PSP color variations during the show. These were announced as prototypes though and were not available for release. One showed red, blue and yellow PSPS that have a metallic look. While another showcase had two PSPs with a camouflage pattern.
