Everybody is familiar with the hit animated movie Cars, and just like most movies that have become hits, corresponding PlayStation 2 games would usually not be far behind. While the game developers had originally intended this game to be for the children, the twists and the actual on-game options have made it attractable towards the adults as well.

Graphics wise, nothing much can be said since the game truly captures the masterfully created characters in the game like Lightning McQueen and Mater. Versus and Story Mode are among the options that somehow provide the actual storyline of the movie, but needing to go through the usual levels and stages to finish the storyline similar to most stories.

Visual presentation may be aimed at the younger gamers, but as far as game strategy and game play, it is still the regular gamers that would enjoy the packaged game on their PS2 consoles. Also, the unlockable arenas, characters and secrets are available as well, something that the mature gamers will want to discover as well.

The drama, intensity and the energy of college basketball can now be at the fingertips of Playstation 2 owners. For people who follow the college basketball leagues such as the NCAA, this new installment of the usual sports category games of Sony is a must have for them.

Sure, there will always be the much celebrated NBA Live Series where all the big names in the professional world of basketball can be heard. But stepping back a bit, some of these big names originated from college basketball, and to see how the atmosphere and level of competition is different from professional basketball will surely be something worth the experience.

With the different modes available, College Hoops 2007 provides players with the option to play such as legacy and versus mode where the college basketball atmosphere will surely pump the adrenaline of game play. While some critics have labeled this game as almost similar to that of College Hoops 2006, everything would depend on the player behind the PS2 controller and how he approaches PS2 games, regardless of such similarities and features from sequels.

Sony reveals accessories, Blu-ray bundle for PS3

As part of its participation in the Gamers’ Day event being held in San Francisco, Sony finally revealed the first accessories that will be made available for the PlayStation 3. The first batch of add ons for the console, which will be launched in the US on November 17, will be relatively modest and would consist of only four devices.The first accessory announced is the PS3 HDMI cable, an accessory that will be needed to get the vaunted 1080p resolution in high definition televisions. The cable was removed from the basic PS3 package much to the consternation of many gamers. The cable will be selling for $49.99, which is so much higher than the price of HDMI cables available in audio/video stores.

Another accessory is the PS3 Memory Card Adapter that will retail $14.99. The adaptor is not needed for saving PS3 games but it is required for loading saved games from PS2 and PlayStation memory cards.

The PS3’s Sixaxis controller will also be selling for $49.99 each. It has a built in Bluetooth wireless connectivity to the PS3 and can support up to seven controllers at once.

The most significant part of the announcement though is that Sony is planning to bundle a single Blu-ray movie with each PS3 for a limited time, much like what it did with PSP when it was released in 2005.
